Freelance Senior Linux Engineer - OpenShift Cloud Specialist

Introduction

For an innovative player in the financial sector, we are looking for a Freelance Senior Linux Engineer with extensive experience in OpenShift. In this role, you will help prepare for a migration to the cloud and set up a Proof of Concept (POC) for Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO).

Organization

You will join a dynamic part of a large financial group serving both private and corporate clients. The team works flexibly and largely remotely, with occasional meetings at the Utrecht office to do strategic alignment.

Job Information

The organization is exploring a transition of its existing on-premise Red Hat environment to Azure, with a special focus on ARO. You will be responsible for setting up a POC and managing the current Red Hat and OpenShift environment. You will also contribute to automation and CI/CD pipelines so that the environment is optimally prepared for the cloud migration.

Job Requirements

• Extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• In-depth knowledge of OpenShift
• Experience with Azure cloud environments
• ARO experience is a plus
• Familiar with CI/CD tools and deployment automation
• Analytically strong and used to managing complex infrastructures

Offer

• Start no later than November 1
• 32-36 hours per week
• Contract term to December 2026
• possibility of extension
• Largely remote working
• Making an impact on a strategic cloud migration project
