Product Safety Engineer

I am looking for an experienced Product Safety Engineer for a leading international high-tech organization. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring product safety within complex, mission-critical hardware development projects.
Organization
You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team (hardware, software, systems, and testing) that develops high-quality communication systems for demanding environments. Projects are characterized by innovation, international collaboration, and strict compliance requirements. Safety and demonstrable compliance with standards are key priorities. Hybrid working is possible (approximately 60/40).
Job information
As a Product Safety Engineer, you ensure the safety of electronic products throughout their entire lifecycle: from concept and design to validation and certification. You perform systematic safety analyses, translate standards frameworks into concrete design and verification criteria, and compile complete safety dossiers.
You work according to standards such as MIL-STD-882, EN IEC 62368-1, and IEC 61010 and support verification and validation activities, including safety testing. In addition, you advise design teams on risk reduction and safe architecture choices and act as a point of contact for stakeholders and certifying bodies.

- Fully substantiated safety files
- Demonstrable compliance with international safety standards
- Control and mitigation of product risks within design processes
Job requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or similar
- Demonstrable experience with product safety engineering
- Knowledge of risk management and safety lifecycle processes
- Experience with MIL-STD-882, EN IEC 62368-1, and IEC 61010
- Experience in high-reliability environments (defense/industry/medical)
- Experience with compliance and certification processes
- Familiar with requirement management tools (e.g., Polarion)
- Affinity with Hazard Based Safety Engineering
- Structured approach and strong documentation skills
