Freelance System Administrator Microsoft 365

Introduction

For a regional public organization, I am looking for an experienced Freelance System Administrator Microsoft 365. In this role, you will combine technical management with knowledge transfer: you will train two internal administrators to become fully-fledged MS365 specialists while helping to modernize and optimize the entire Microsoft 365 environment.

Organization

You will work within an IT department that is evolving towards a directional organization. In the coming years, we will be investing heavily in modern management, cloud technology and knowledge building within the team. The need for experienced Microsoft 365 expertise is great - you will play a key role in this.

You will be part of a professional management team and will have the space to use your specialist knowledge for training, process improvement and implementation of best practices. Hybrid working is possible.

Job Information

As System Administrator Microsoft 365, you will be responsible for both technical management and developing the internal knowledge structure. You design and provide a practical training program that trains two colleagues to become independently operating MS365 administrators. In addition, you optimize the entire environment according to modern standards and advise management on improvements.

You focus on strengthening and professionalizing all Microsoft 365 domains, including Azure, Entra ID, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange Online, Purview, Endpoint Manager and XDR/Defender. Your efforts will directly contribute to a more secure, efficient and future-proof management organization.

Assignment Outcome:

• Two fully deployable Microsoft 365 system administrators
• An up-to-date and standardized MS365 environment

Job Requirements

• HBO level, preferably towards ICT
• Multiple years of experience as a system administrator in environments of 500+ workstations
• Senior experience with Microsoft 365 (min. 5 years)
• Experience with MS Defender and security solutions
• Strong teaching skills (training & mentorship)

Offer

• Start: December 8, 2025
• Duration: 6 months (options to extend 3 × 6 months)
• Hours: 36 per week
