Introduction

I am looking for an experienced freelance GenAI Platform Engineer for an organization in the Dutch energy infrastructure sector. In this role, you will build the GenAI platform that helps the organization work faster and smarter using AI—and thereby accelerate the energy transition.

An organization within the critical energy infrastructure sector, undergoing rapid change as a result of the energy transition. To tackle the increasing workload more efficiently, the company is making a strong commitment to AI. The GenAI Platform Team focuses on GenAI solutions for business challenges.
You’ll join a team that operates like a startup within a large company: driven, entrepreneurial, and capable of quickly turning new ideas into reality within a complex context. Methodology: Agile, with use cases ranging from PoC to production. Atmosphere: young, social, with short lines of communication and plenty of room for learning and feedback.

Job Information

As a GenAI Platform Engineer, you will focus on the technical implementation and ensuring a scalable and secure platform. You will support colleagues in developing and implementing GenAI solutions using a robust and automated infrastructure.

Work includes, among other things:

  • Designing and building CI/CD pipelines for the deployment of GenAI solutions
  • Creating reusable infrastructure building blocks for rapid and consistent development
  • Further development of the GenAI Gateway—the central nervous system for GenAI models—with a focus on robustness and security
  • Collaborate with other IT teams (API, Security) to ensure seamless integration and compliance
  • Setting Up and Managing Model Monitoring for GenAI Use Cases

Job Requirements

  • University-level science work and thinking skills
  • At least 6 years of work experience in IT, engineering, or digital transformation, with experience on an AI platform team
  • Up-to-date knowledge and certifications in the field of generative AI
  • Experience with responsible AI and AI governance in accordance with the EU AI Act and ISO 42001
  • Experience with model monitoring, evaluation frameworks, and feedback loops (MLOps principles)
  • Strong command of Dutch

Pros

  • Experience with MLOps, model monitoring, Python, LangChain, and LangGraph
  • Experience with infrastructure/networking within a large IT organization
  • Experience building and deploying a GenAI platform (RAG, vector databases, embedding pipelines, multi-LLM architecture)
  • Experience with Azure, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform)
  • Experience with EU-sovereign multi-LLM architecture and data sovereignty

Offer

  • Start: as soon as possible, no later than August 1, 2026
  • Term: 1 year
  • 32, 36, or 40 hours per week
  • Location: Rotterdam (at least 2 days a week in the office)
  • A substantive assignment with a direct impact on accelerating the energy transition
