Freelance Azure Cloud Engineer

Introduction

For a fast growing e-commerce organization in the Amsterdam area I am looking for a highly experienced Freelance Azure Cloud Engineer. A challenging project is about to start, where you as a specialist will make a real difference.

Organization

This organization is a leading player within Dutch e-commerce and processes hundreds of thousands of transactions daily through its platform. Everything here revolves around scalability, speed and security. The IT organization has more than 80 engineers and works according to the "you build it, you run it" principle.
Due to the start-up of a large-scale migration to a fully Azure-native infrastructure, temporary reinforcement is needed. You will join a multidisciplinary team of engineers, DevOps specialists and security experts. Work will be hybrid, with increased office presence in the first few weeks to get you well settled in.

Job Information

You will be jointly responsible for migrating an existing hybrid environment to a scalable, secure and fully automated Azure infrastructure. This means that on a daily basis you will be involved in setting up and managing landing zones, role-based access control, policies, cost management and automation. In doing so, you'll use Terraform for infrastructure deployment, work with Azure DevOps and automation, and manage everything through Git.
In addition to building, you'll also provide architectural input, coordinate with the security team on governance and compliance (think Defender for Cloud), and make sure everything is scalable and future-proof. They are looking for someone who dares to set out the lines and takes on the technology themselves.

Job Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with Azure Cloud (at least 5 years)
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• With Terraform
• Experience with High-performance environments (such as e-commerce)
• AKS is a big plus

Offer

• Preferred start August 1
• 12-month contract
• Extension plausible
• 40 hours per week (32/36 is possible)
