Freelance IT Strategy & Infrastructure Consultant

Introduction

For my relationship I am looking for an experienced Freelance IT Strategy & Infrastructure Consultant with broad knowledge of system and network management, information security and organizational development.
You will play a key role in analyzing the current IT management environment and developing a future-proof vision for the infrastructure and governance organization.

Organization

You will be working within a public organization that wants to strengthen and professionalize its IT services. The IT environment consists of a mix of internal specialists and external partners. The coming period will be marked by further development of information security, compliance with laws and regulations (such as BIO and NIS2) and the realization of a future-proof management organization with clear processes, responsibilities and direction.

Job Information

Your duties include:

• Perform analysis of current system and network management environment (servers, network, security measures, cloud components).
• Mapping processes, practices and responsibilities within the management organization.
• Review the current setup against relevant frameworks such as BIO, NIS2 and internal guidelines.
• Identify vulnerabilities, bottlenecks and inefficiencies, both technical and organizational.
• Develop a vision and strategy for the future design of IT management and direction.
• Advise on collaboration between internal teams and external vendors.
• Translate findings into a concrete improvement plan with priorities, phasing and resources needed.
• Deliver clear advisory report and present results to management.

Job Requirements

• Extensive experience in system and network administration within medium and large organizations, preferably in the public sector.
• Knowledge of information security and relevant frameworks such as BIO, NIS2 and ISO 27001.
• Experience analyzing management environments and preparing future visions or implementation plans.
• Understanding directing, sourcing strategies and collaboration with external IT partners.
• Knowledge of cloud environments (M365, Azure) and modern network architectures.
• Strong consulting skills and ability to present complex information in an understandable manner.
• Independent, analytical and organization-sensitive; able to build support at various levels.

Offer

• December 1 start
• Deployment through mid-March 2026
• Option to renew: 12 x 3 months
• 36 hours per week
• Hybrid working
