Freelance Senior Linux Engineer

Introduction

For a leading organization within the healthcare sector, I am looking for a Freelance Senior Linux Engineer. You will work on the further development of a national platform that allows healthcare providers such as general practitioners, pharmacies and dentists to securely exchange patient data.

This organization plays a crucial role in the digital infrastructure of Dutch healthcare. Their platform forms the basis for reliable and secure data exchange between healthcare institutions and contributes directly to the quality and continuity of healthcare. The work location is in North Holland; hybrid working is the standard.

Job Information

As a Senior Linux Engineer, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance and continued development of the underlying Linux platform. You ensure a stable, secure and scalable infrastructure on which the national healthcare communication platform runs. Besides daily operational activities such as patching, monitoring and performance optimization, you also work on a project basis on improvements and renewals. Think of the migration to RHEL 9, automating provisioning and configuration, and further integration with container and cloud technologies. You ensure continuity and quality within an environment where availability and security are crucial.

Job Requirements

• Extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8/9)
• Experience with automation (Ansible, Terraform, scripting)
• Familiar with container platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of monitoring and security hardening
• Experience within the healthcare industry is a plus
