Freelance Senior Project Manager – ServiceNow Implementation

Introduction

We are looking for a highly experienced project manager for a large government organization in the southern Netherlands. You will lead the organization-wide implementation of ServiceNow, from setup to handover to operations.

Organization

The organization is streamlining its internal services and will increasingly act as a coordinator for suppliers. ServiceNow will become the central platform for service management processes throughout the organization.

You work in a political and administrative environment. There are many internal stakeholders, several external suppliers, and quite a few interdependencies. Decisions are made through management, a steering committee, and administrative channels. That’s why an understanding of relationships is just as important as a firm grasp of planning and technical matters.

Job Information

You are fully responsible for the implementation project. You monitor the schedule, progress, quality, risks, and decision-making, and ensure that workflows remain aligned. You work on a daily basis with process owners, functional management, architects, technical specialists, vendors, and management.

Core Responsibilities:

• Managing all workflows: process design, technical configuration, data migration, integrations, testing, adoption, and ensuring ongoing management
• Establishing and monitoring project governance; serving as the central point of contact for escalations
• Managing Multiple Suppliers and Contract Parties
• Preparing decisions and reporting to the client, management, and the steering committee
• Translating complex technical and organizational issues into clear decisions for executives

Result of the assignment:

• ServiceNow is fully operational and live organization-wide
• Processes, technology, users, and the management organization are aligned
• The transfer to management has been secured, and the adoption process is underway
• The platform supports service delivery in a sustainable manner

Job Requirements

• A university degree or a demonstrated level of work and thinking equivalent to a university degree
• Certification in project/program management (PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, IPMA-C or higher, PMP, or equivalent)
• ITIL Foundation
• At least two completed ServiceNow training courses or certifications
• Approximately 20 years of experience as a project or program manager with ultimate responsibility in large, complex organizations
• At least 10 years of experience implementing mission-critical IT platforms
• Served as the person with final responsibility for at least three organization-wide implementations, including migration, integrations, testing, adoption, and go-live
• At least 5 years of experience managing suppliers in a multi-vendor environment
• Experience with the implementation of Enterprise Service Management (ServiceNow or similar)
• Work experience with a provincial government, the national government, a large municipality, an implementing agency, or a similar administrative setting
• Excellent command of spoken and written Dutch
• Ready for screening; a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is required

• ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CIS, or CAD
• Additional certifications: MSP Practitioner, IPMA-B, PMP, AgilePM, PRINCE2 Agile, ITIL Specialist/Strategist/Leader
• Experience with multiple government organizations, with direct involvement in administrative decision-making
• Proven experience with escalation management involving multiple suppliers

Offer
