Freelance Senior Cloud Architect

Introduction

For a leading organization within the energy sector, I am looking for a Freelance Senior Cloud Architect. You will work on a strategic IT program that supports the energy transition by realizing the transition to cloud-native technologies. You will be pivotal in designing and implementing a modern cloud architecture and helping the organization build a data- and AI-driven future.

Organization

This organization plays a crucial role in making the energy infrastructure in the Netherlands more sustainable. Based in Arnhem (hybrid working possible) you will work in multidisciplinary teams on innovative cloud and platform solutions. The team works closely with external managed cloud providers and internal IT specialists to realize the migration to Microsoft Azure and cloud-native operations.

Job Information

As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for defining and designing the cloud architecture and supporting the platform team in the development of new cloud services. You will work with enterprise architects, application teams and external partners to achieve a future-proof cloud environment.

Core of the role:

• Function as the technical point of contact within the cloud architecture team
• Designing cloud solutions and platform services in Azure
• Translate missing platform services into actions and backlogs
• Support application teams in onboarding to the cloud platform
• Encourage continuous improvement and architectural development
• Organize workshops and hackathons to promote knowledge sharing
• Advising on CI/CD pipelines and cloud transformation processes

Job Requirements

• At least 5 years of cloud architecture experience
• Strong experience with Azure networking, compute services and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience working with multiple MSPs within a single IT environment
• Knowledge of software and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly document complex choices
• Fluent in Dutch and English
