Freelance Azure System Administrator

Introduction

I am looking for an experienced freelance system administrator with solid Azure experience for an international organization in the Den Bosch area. In this role, you will manage and improve the Microsoft cloud environment, taking ownership of multiple services within an environment that is rapidly becoming more professional.

An international organization that is further professionalizing its IT environment and increasingly moving to the cloud. The team has a clear mission: to further develop, standardize, and optimize Microsoft Cloud and Workplace services.

Job Information

As a System Administrator, you’re directly involved in day-to-day management, but you look well beyond today’s incidents and changes. You identify areas where things can be done smarter, safer, or more efficiently—and you take the initiative to implement those improvements yourself.

Work includes, among other things:

• Managing and Optimizing Azure, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365
• Managing and Further Developing Intune and Endpoint Management
• Addressing complex technical cloud issues
• Automating and Improving Management Processes
• Implementing security measures (MFA, conditional access, access governance, hardening)
• Implementing lifecycle management for cloud platforms, devices, and workplace services
• Take ownership of one or more cloud and workplace services
• Developing and improving technical standards and documentation
• Sharing knowledge and helping colleagues learn new techniques and work methods

Job Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune
• Understanding the relationship between identity, security, endpoints, and cloud infrastructure
• Independent and proactive; identifies areas for improvement on their own
• Seniority to set a good example and pass on knowledge

Pros

• Experience with automation (PowerShell, Bicep, or similar)

Offer

• Start: as soon as possible
• Term: at least through December 31, 2026, with an option to extend
• 32 to 40 hours per week
• 3 days a week on-site in Den Bosch; the remaining days remotely
